Demba Ba: Expected to step back into the Chelsea starting XI

Ba was ineligible for the Europa League defeat of Steaua Bucharest on Thursday, when Torres scored the decisive goal, missed a late penalty and suffered a bloody nose.

Frank Lampard, who was an unused substitute against the Romanians, could feature against his former club with the midfielder eyeing his 200th Chelsea goal, while long-term injury victim Oriol Romeu (knee) is the only definite absentee.

West Ham midfielder Joe Cole will sit out a meeting with his former club as he nurses a hamstring injury, while left-back George McCartney is missing with a knee complaint.

Mark Noble is struggling to shake off an arm injury which kept him out of last weekend's 1-0 victory at Stoke and club captain Kevin Nolan faces a race against time to prove his fitness after picking up a foot injury during a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham on 25th February.

James Tomkins is back in contention after recovering from a virus.
